It all started with my cat not covering his pee/poop in his litter box. then after a while he stopped using the litter box and started peeing and pooping in unusual places around the house. then he started having diarrhea and since he's a Persian cat he has long hair so it gets stuck around his bum and gets dirty. one night i was washing his bum and as i was blow drying him he started running back and forth in the tub and defecated again and suddenly fell to one side and started shaking uncontrollably. we rushed him to the emergency hospital and the vet did a physical check and everything seemed normal but gave antibiotics for the diarrhea (clavamox). as i started giving the antibiotics, his diarrhea diminished and his stool became normal. we did a blood work, an x-ray, and took a urine sample and there was generally nothing wrong except they found a small amount of crystals in his urine. the vet gave some other pills to make it easier for him to pee (because my cat no longer peed or pooped regularly except the only time he would release them would be during his seizures. so that was a huge concern for us and possibly that he may have some sort of bladder infection that is causing the seizures. but i went to another vet to get a second opinion and he said that so far he cant seem to be sure of what the cause of the seizures are and that we should treat it as idiopathic epilepsy and gave him the anticonvulsant drug to prevent/reduce the seizures and suggested that after 2 weeks of giving him the pills that we should do another blood work to see the result or effects of the drug. it's been 2 days that i've been giving him the pill twice a day (every 12 hours) and his seizures HAVE reduced to only a couple or so (as opposed to one almost every few hours) BUT he still hasnt peed or pooped normally for us to rule out some sort of bladder infection? I'm so scared that he may have primary or idiopathic epilepsy because that would mean he will have it for the rest of his life, so i'm hoping that it is some sort of infection that can be treated so that the seizures could go away once the infection goes away. another thing that is scaring me is that my cat has been acting veryyyy strange since all of this has happened. during the first few days of the constant seizures, he became way more affectionate with all of us and kept following us everywhere around the house and rubbing himself against us. then after we kept taking him to the vet days after days, it seems as if he became mad at us and didnt follow us anymore and barely came to rub himself against us. and since we started giving the anticonvulsant pills, it's as if he's has absolutely NO idea who we are. sometimes i feel like he cant properly see or something. and i'm scared he's forgotten his name and has no idea what it is. also he keeps staring at random objects or places and i'm so scared that he may have had some brain damage because of the seizures :'( please help me make sense out of this.
