Why is my DirecTV receiver skipping?

Sometimes my DirecTV signal gets choppy and skips for like a quick second. What can I do to stop it?

I have:
Disconnected the cords from the reciever, used dust spray on it, and reconnected them
Left the receiver off for several hours
Reset the receiver
Connected the receiver to a different TV to make sure it wasn't my TV that's messing up

Yet none of these things have helped at all!

I know it's not the satelite dish because all the other receivers in the house seem to be doing fine.

Any tips?

your box is old, you need to get the newest cable box. We have the same problem and I know that's why.
