why is my german shepard so jelous of my beagle when he greets me?

well everytime i go outside to greet my beagle my german sheperd (Rex) is always jealous and he barks at the beagle and fights with him (not hurtful fight more as a playing fight to get him away from me) and if i try put him in the house he barks so loud and just wants the beagle to be away from me so the beagle cant have me or something????
