Why is my internet slower than it used to be?

I got high speed internet last spring and everything was really fast but now it has slowed down. I have itunes and a song used to take a minute and now it takes 4-5 minutes. Pages take longer to load too. What can I do to increase the speed how it used to be?
Thanks mikey..... but I have firefox....
thank you elle....but I also have a virus thing and fire wall and a site advisor...
