1987 Mazda b2600 Water pump and heater core replaced within the last year So basically I was driving down the interstate yesterday in 90 degree weather and my truck started overheating. I pulled over and let it cool down. I got back on the road and continued to drive with the temp half between C and H and did so for like an hour with no problems. I hit a town in stop and go traffic and it started getting hot (like it always does) Usually once I hit the interstate it will cool down again from the speed of wind...this time it didnt, it refused to go down in temp. I pulled over, let it cool, and traveled another 2 hours with no problems. Why does my vehicle overheat, and why does it refuse to go down in temp unless I pull over? and then it runs great as long as I dont hit another stop and go scenario.
