Why is the Dodge Viper known as the SRT-10 in Europe?

Your first answer is dead on target. Good man so what do they call the corvettes there??

It's the same reason why 2004 - 06 Holden Monaro in Austrailia is known as the 2004 - 06 Pontiac GTO here in the states. Another example is in Canada, The Grand Marquis is Ford badged, not Mercury, even though they are one in the same. Its simply just a name designation to help distinguish what country the car is set up for in terms of emissions and safety laws and such.

EDIT: @Roberta I think the Corvette is an exception in this case. It's too well known by this name to be called anything else in any other country. The main difference is the car is much more expensive in Europe than it is here in the states lol.
