[QUOTE="LyndaLee, post: 1435293, member: 314768"] In this translation which reads: Micah chapter 2 1 “Woe to those who are scheming what is harmful, and to those practicing what is bad, upon their beds! By the light of the morning they proceed to do it, because it is in the power of their hand. 2 And they have desired fields and have seized [them]; also houses, and have taken [them]; and they have defrauded an able-bodied man and his household, a man and his hereditary possession. 3 “Therefore this is what Jehovah has said, ‘Here I am thinking up against this family a calamity from which YOU people will not remove YOUR necks, so that YOU will not walk haughtily; because it is a time of calamity. 4 In that day one will raise up concerning YOU people a proverbial saying and will certainly lament a lamentation, even a lamentation. One will have to say: “We have positively been despoiled! The very portion of my people he alters. How he removes [it] from me! To the unfaithful one he apportions out our own fields.” 5 Therefore you will come to have no one casting out the cord, by lot, in the congregation of Jehovah. 6 Do not YOU people let [words] drop. They let [words] drop. They will not let [words] drop concerning these [things]. Humiliations will not move away. (New world translation is above^^^^^) when in other translations most read this way: Mic 2:1 Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. Mic 2:2 And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Mic 2:3 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time. Mic 2:4 In that day shall they take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We are utterly ruined: he changeth the portion of my people: how doth he remove it from me! to the rebellious he divideth our fields. Mic 2:5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah. Mic 2:6 Prophesy ye not, thus they prophesy. They shall not prophesy to these: reproaches shall not depart. American standard version Does not the difference in the translations change the meaning of how one would understand it? [/QUOTE]
