I was eating some sun chips when I found a nasty old peanut shell can anyone explain why this may have happened. The only thing I can think of is that they are made in a factory that makes peanuts but still how would it get mixed in?

Usually there'll be a warning on the back of the packet letting you know that the product is made on the same machinery that processes nuts as well.
It probably just got stuck from when they were processing peanuts and it loosened up and fell into the chips afterwards.
If you call up the consumer inquires number on the packet you should be able to get reimbersed for the packet of chips.

they could use the same machines. you know how some labels say like this product has been made in factories that use nuts or eggs or something. well if it's in the same machine for some reason it's possible the shell got stuck and finally got loose when they were filling that bag
