A season or two ago I was riding my dads 1997 Polaris Indy 600 xlt limited I think the year was 1997 like I said. I was riding about fifty mph when randomly the sled went down to ten mph and the rpms were high and If I went over like 10 mph the sled would make a sound as If the rpms were really high and I need to back off the throttle. Its a triple cylinder. I think a couple hundred miles before this a piston or something was replaced and my dad though maybe the same piston broke so I pulled the cable while he looked at the piston and he thinks It might be coming high but he Isnt sure. What would cause a sled to be that speed with high rpms and not go faster. Is It a clutch or compression problem etc. I dont have a compression tester. But might be able to borrow one. What would ya say the problem Is.
