i was wondering why nokia has no market at all in u.s.when rest of world they have a good brand value and sale.also is it true that nokia wont be selling symbian/meego devices in u.s.like n8 sucessor and 701 with symbian carla and belle wont be available in u.s?

When prepaid cell phones were first introduced to the U.S. market Nokia was the brand that most prepaid services used. So people in the U.S. think that because Nokia phones were sold at a cheap price or even given away that they are not good phones. But I still have some Nokia phones that are over 5 years old that still hold a charge and are still in good working order. I keep them for my emergeny phones.

But I believe that this is the reason that people don't buy Nokia phones in the U.S. and the reason that Nokia has stopped selling their phones to prepaid providers.

All I know is Verizon is the best cell provider in the US and they don't sell any Nokia phones.

This article is a little dated, but some good info here:
