I got starchoice satellite about 3 months ago. Now I've decided to not continue the service because it kinda doesn't work for me.
The problem is that they want "their" receiver back (If you cancel your account earlier than a year, or you have to pay 200 bucks!)
Now when I opened my account I didn't need to get a dish because I got the one my parents used a couple years ago. They had the service longer than a year and bought the whole system in a store over 5 yrs ago!! So, I shouldn't have to give them anything back, because they didn't send me anything.

Anyone had a problem like that?? I need advise to solve this one!

And they only want the receiver back not the satellite, but only the satellite wears a star choice logo.

If they gave you the receiver, you legally have to give it back. Its theft if you don't. The $200 has nothing to do with the receiver as that is the penalty you agreed to when you signed up. But if you already owned the equipment then no you dont have to send it back. They have to prove that they leased the item to you. Which means that have to have paperwork with the serial number on it that you signed when you subsribed. If you already owned the equipment they cant force you to surrender it, only the $200.
