Yes, years ago there was a long list of organs which were considered to have lost all useful function -- and therefore were some people's obsessions in the Creation & Evolution debates -- but that list has shrunk down to almost nothing. (Are these the kinds of people who still insist that science claims that the bumble bee lacks the aerodynamic properties necessary for flight but does anyway by sheer determination? Hey, I'm all for encouraging a positive attitude in children but does trying to sabotage the contributions of science really help anyone?)
