I was playing a game on a website. Time controls are very flexible, you can do 5 minutes per move, and you can also do 14 days per move. I also want to mention that there is a 10 game limit to the as a non paying member. I was seeking an opponent with the game options set at 14 days per move. It was accepted within a minute (by another non paying member) and we played about 10 moves the next half an hour. I came back one week later.. and noticed the game chat was riddled with comments telling me to move with loads of profanities. Unfortunately there was no profanity filter so the words were clear. I responded that the option is 14 days per move, and if they wanted faster, then why accept my game? He said he played quite a few 14 days per move games and claims they were all finished within a few hours or a couple of days and that I was seriously slowing him down. I responded again I have the right to make moves any time within that 14 days time limit and that I wasn't delaying on purpose. Anyway the guy then resigns the game.
I posted this incident to the forum and someone else mentioned playing a 7 days per move game with him and took several days per move and the guy never complained at all. That game was finished normally and lasted several months.
Why was I being singled out?? I mean why does he complain to ME when he didn't complain to someone else.
