Why won't a DVD disc that i have burned using DivX 6.8 not finalize the disc?

I burn movies on to a disc using DivX 6.8. The burning process goes fine. When it tries to finalize the disc it just keeps saying finalizing and it won't stop. Then i stop the program myself after about an hour. And of course the discs will not play. I have finalized lots of other discs with no problems at all and it only would take about a minute or two. This problem just started today. I tried burning a disc using Nero and it burned and finalized the disc just fine. I like using DivX though because you can burn six movies on to one disc and it only takes about fifteen minutes. I thought the problem might be with my DVD burner. But burning with Nero worked okay and the drive plays movies and games with no problems.
