I went to start my golf yesterday morning and all of a sudden it won't start. I put the clutch in like normal, turned the ignition, and all that happened was the electronics fluttered on and off at an incredible speed coupled with a 'tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic' noise with each on/off of the electronics. There was no sound what so ever of the engine even trying to turn over, and no mechanical sounds at all. I'm guessing either the battery or the starter, but I have no way to test either with my car dead in my garage. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be?
