Why won't my phone turn on?

I have a Super Slice phone with Virgin prepaid. I know the battery is good because I just charged it. I had the phone on this afternoon and was trying to get on the internet and my phone froze up. Now it won't turn on. When I plug it into the charger, it doesn't respond at all.

take the battery out, and put it back in, restarting the phone
