I just bought a scanner from radio shack and I can't really pick anything up on it. It was programed with the frequencies in my area however it doesn't receive anything. I can pick up the weather station and the transmission from the cb in my truck, that's all. Does it need to be re-banded or re-programed?

If I turn the squelch down it may lock onto a frequency but it's all static.
