i have a 1990 Arctic Cat 440 and it gets good spark but it wont turn over. could the carbs be dirty?

Maybe, if it starts with starting fluid but dies shortly after its most likely a carb issue. If it doesn't turn over at all it might be a more serious problem

NEVER use starting fluid on a two-stroke engine! It can result in an explosion inside the crankcase. Dirty carbs will make an engine go lean and burn pistons. Clean carbs, check the fuel pump (assuming there is one) for a fracture diaphragm.

It could be a fuel pump problem. Check also your fuel pump relay. Hope this helps!

on Youtube there is a channel called DAVIDS FARM .... this guy is a major engine guru and he often posts how-to videos on things like this .... there might already be one there to see ... or ... you can e mail him with this question ... he WILL know what is gong on with this and what exactly to look for.
