Why won't XVID work on my computer?

I have downloaded XviD and all of its components, yet every time I try to watch a movie online it tells me that I have to have XviD installed in order to watch. I thought maybe I hadn't installed it correctly before, so I tried downloading it from the link provided on the page and nothing happened. It's really frustrating me. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I'm using Windows 7, if that matters.

Divx is the only player I've had to install to watch movies online.

I get my places to watch movies online from solarmovie.eu, and since I found putlocker, putlocker is usually has best. I don't even need divx http://www.solarmovie.eu/
I think that player you have may be.....well...bad.
Run a scan with MBAM, and unistall xvid.
