We have taken our Durango into the shop because it needed some attention to the spark plugs. The car had been running rough and since we changed out the spark plugs the car only seemed to be running more rough than before. We used Bosch plugs. The shop has now given us an astronomical estimate for replacement of the PCM: (they say the fuel injectors caused this to fail)
(they also say the high resistance from a bad coil caused this to fail)
FUEL PUMP: (they say it is getting low fuel pressure),
TWO FUEL INJECTORS AND A COIL
What would cause the need for a Power train control module? Should this be something that shows up on an engine light diagnostic? Any advice to this would be sooo appreciated. I have just been laid off and can not afford these repairs. I would hope I am not being ripped off.
