A had a cross staffordshire bull terrier/ kelpie and it jumped off my truck with the rope I tied round it's neck. I was only driving 50 km an hour and there was nothing that frightened it. I heard the dog scream so pulled over to the side of the road and when I got out of the truck one of it's eyes popped out of it's socket so I had to push it back in. I took the dog to the vet and I was told the dog would be blind in one and have poor vision in the other so I decided to have the dog put down. I still don't understand why dog jumped off the truck.
Aduial I am not trolling so stop making stupid comments.

So you had the dog killed because he could no longer see in one eye?
Dont ever own a dog again, please until you understand what youve done wrong.
You should NEVER put a dog in the back of your truck without being in a secure kennel, in fact Im against putting them in the back all together they should be in the backseat of your car or the cab of the truck. A person who really loved their dog wouldnt have allowed what you did to happen and if it did they sure wouldnt of just let it be killed. Way to go for being an irresponsible owner. Poor dog :( I wouldve taken her.

because it's owner made a foolish dicison, dogs have no business in the back of a truck. You made a dumb choice that cost it's life, it doesn't matter why the dog jumped what matters is why the dog was put in the back.

Well the dog might have gotten scared about something or felt it needed to protect you from something. I actually have never heard of a dog ever jumping out of a moving vehicle knowing how fast it was going and being secured. The dog did have lose of vision ... well instead of yelling at your or being cruel ill tell you a story. One morning i went outside my home to catch the bus and found a kitten purtched on the tier of the family vehicle. I took her to the vet and they said because she had coal in the eye so bad she would be blind for her whole life. She grew up and learned to hear people and where things were in the house and eventually she was able to see shadows. So even though she was blind she lived a happy healthy life with my family and was so smart we named her trouble because she would get into stuf sit on the couch stare at you and wag her tail like yeah i did so what you going to do about it and you get close to her and she would take off lol. With animals it is all about what you are prepared to handle. Blind dog or cat they still live like they use to they just have to relearn some things. You just did what you thought was right. Knowledge though is key so research the topic.

Why would you put him in the bed of your trunk anyway...its so stupid. Haven't you thought of getting into a crash and the dog goes flying out. Think twice before you do something crazy like that again.

thats terrible. thats really irresponsible of you...face it, its your fault! if it wasent for the rope, he would still be alive!

the dog could of fell, and yes, for some dogs, the sounds the truck makes DO frighten them!!
the dog could of seen or heard something?

what a shitty way to leave this world.
