Will a region-all blu-ray movie I ordered from the UK run on my American PS3?

I heard that the American PS3 can run blu-ray movies from all regions, but the same cannot be said about all formats for games.

you heard wrong. it can play ALL region ps3 GAMES, but not all region blu-ray movies.
