I have a snowmobile engine with the primary drive clutch still attached to the camshaft. I might want to use this engine to power an axle on custom go-cart. I was wondering if the primary clutch will function properly without using a secondary driven clutch. I plan to simply loop the belt around the primary drive and then around a regular pulley on the axle. Will the primary clutch function to properly engage the belt and adjust tension with RPMs or do I need to have the secondary too?
