Will Blackberry OS 6 work with older Blackberry Service Providers?

Hi, I'm a Blackberry Bold 9700 user here in Saudi Arabia and I was thinking of getting an open line BB Torch. I'm currently enrolled in my operator's blackberry service. Will OS 6 work with the Blackberry service even if it still not available with my provider?
 
OS 6 is an outstanding system but I would definitely check with your current provider before going forward.
