If you look at prehistoric data the planet earth had quite a few extinction events.
I beleive that one day earth won't have anymore humans on it.
 
You're asking a prediction of the future. No one is able to give you a definite answer.

There is definitely a chance for the extinction of human beings, but it won't come in the next few decades given our population. Evolution takes million of years....

We will continue to reap the benefits of technology, I am certain.. at the expense of the earth's resources.

So if you'd ask me, I think it's more likely humans deplete the earth's natural resources and leave all species dying than to have humans facing extinction alone.
