I was prescribed Effexor for anxiety and panic disorder. I took my first dose today and wasn't all that crazy about it, because I got some really nasty side effects. Among those, it's keeping me up at night (it's 4:48 a.m.!)
Anyway, I was told from a family member with experience with Effexor about its withdrawal, which my family (and prescribing) doctor neglected to tell me. I really do not like the idea of having this medicine as a permanent fixture in my life. This is the first SSRI I've been given, too, so I'm very surprised as to why one of the strongest was the first to try. In either case, am I going to experience any withdrawal from just one dose? I decided it's time to stop it before I get in too deep, and see a specialist! Thanks.
