Will Karma get him later in life...for gossiping?

Say a guy joins a new group of friends that are mostly older than him by at least 10 years. After a while of being in the group he starts to open up and talk negatively about a past ex of his.

Will this eventually turn-around and get him later? Like Karma?

Well if she's an ex, then i bet there's nothing positive to say about her.
Unless he's making something up about her, then i doubt Karma will get back at him.

I know at least 90% of people have nothing nice to say about their ex's!!
