Will my insurance pay for my car to get fixed after it was sideswiped by a

unidentified person? I own a 2006 nissan altima and last night i parked it on my street like i do every night. When i went to go out today i saw that the left side mirror was knocked off then i realized the whole left side of my car was side swiped. Should i tell my insurance company so they can help fix it or should i just pay for it myself out of my own pocket. I don't really know how much damage it is but i'm pretty sure my deductible is $500. If my insurance goes up a little it will be ok, as long as its not like $100 more a month.
