Will people ever be able to trade in their standard DVDs for Blu-Ray?

I went crazy over the last few years before high definition DVDs became standard and now I'm at a point where I have well over 300 standard DVDs that just don't look as good as my, um, 5 Blu-Ray movies.

Does anyone know of any places now, or any potential future promotions where trading in standard DVDs for their Blu-Ray counterparts will be done? I know it won't be a clean swap, but if I could give them my standard version and say - $10 to $15, it seems fair, right? I remember when DVD was first becoming the norm there were some video stores that found use with the old VHS movies.

I didn't even know they did that for VHS tapes, let alone do I know if they will do that for Blu-ray discs. If that becomes an option, that would be great. However, VHS tapes could be recorded over, but I don't think DVDs can be reused. If that's not an option, you could try selling your DVDs, and for every sale use that money earned as a "discount" toward buying the Blu-ray version.

problably not gonna happen bro . . . . i myself own a buttload of dvds & have thought about the same thing.

would be great though if they did some sort of promotion like that.

gl & peace!
