I can't find anything about this on the internet. This is in Kentucky. My friend will be losing his job of 9 years due to a manufacturing plant closure. He also raises tobacco on a farm every year. There's not many jobs here so it will probably take some time to find a new job. He will be filing for unemployment benefits. He will sell his tobacco crop at auction around November and he usually brings in $15,000. $4,000 of that goes to fertilizer and farm expenses and the rest he puts toward his farm loan. Will this effect his unemployment benefits? Will he need to report earnings to the unemployment office or wait until income tax time?
