...car has been repo-ed? I was hit by a woman and she caused front-end damage to my car. This happened back in June... its now September and I just got a check from my insurance company with my name and the lienholder's name (bank)... but... I also VOLUNTEERED to have my car repo-ed for numerous of reasons... so the bank now has my car and I have agreed to have them add the repair costs on the residual balance... but I don't think they know I recieved a check... My question is the following- Will the bank go ahead and sign off on the check and let me do as I please with it, or will they take it even though they have already added these estimated repair costs to my residual balance?
Or do I need to call the adjuster and try and have him reissue a check with just MY name on it?
Any input would be so greatly appreciated.
