No. You have to call T-Mobile by dialing 611 on your phone.
If you are on another persons plan like your cousins or parents you have to have them OK the process before doing it. It doesn't cost extra or anything, at least it doesn't for me. I chose to do the unlimited texting. Only an extra $20.00.
