Without syncing how do you add music to an iOS 5 iPhone 4?

My friend just upgraded his phone to ios5 and i wanted to add some music to his iTunes library on his iPhone 4. Is there any way you could add the music? or does he have to add music from the computer he synced his iPhone with. PLease any help?
 
use iCloud.

If you bought the songs from the iTunes store then you can just go back to iTunes and re-download them from your phone. it's free! :)

If you have other songs in iTunes that you didn't "buy" (say you ripped a CD or something) then you can sign up for iTunes match. iTunes will analyze your library and match them to songs in the iTunes store... then you can download them to any i-Device you have. iTunes match costs $25/year however...
