WORKOUTS - what would suit me?

Ok, I'm 12 year old girl and I was wondering what sort of ab workouts would I do? I want to get abs, desperatly.
I have been doing some running round and round my garden for around half an hour for the past 2 nights (haven't done it tonight because I wasn't feeling well)
I've also been trying to do some sit-ups, push-ups, body squats and crunches......... I've only recently started doing this.
I just don't think it's working and I've heard other people say that using weights at that age will damage my growth?
I was wondering what sort of work outs would help me out here.
And no answers that say "why at that age, just enjoy your childhood" because you're not me =]
