Would a Blowback BB gun Actaully "Blowback" with out CO2 in it?

I want to buy a blowback BB gun for a movie prop in short action scene video's I make. I need a blowback because simply it's really realistic when it comes to that. The slide moving back and forth as you pull the trigger, able to see the open ejection port etc..But does that mean I have to be spending money on CO2? So please Answer. Does the slide move even with out CO2 in the gun?
