Would it be ridiculous to ask my future landlord?

This is my first time moving into an actual house not an apartment. And I want to ask him if the house is haunted. The reason why this thought runs through my mind is cause the previous owners boned out the house leaving so much behind! It makes me wonder why? I know there are other possible reasons but I just think and think and think, why? What happened? If something happened. Then I'm more freaked out because of the new movie about the haunted house in Connecticut? I've been in the house frequently and never felt "uneasy" but idk?? Maybe I'm thinking from my ass or something?
