Would job hunting in April be reasonable if I were to reside in San Fernando Valley

or Orange County in June? I understand that this is way too soon, and I still got an average of 9-11 months before the final decision will officially be made, but I just want to plan as far ahead as possible.

So, if I do get accepted into CSU Northridge, my goal is to reside within a 20 mile radius of the school. If I do get accepted into CSU Fullerton, my goal is to reside within a 10 mile radius of the school.

- Does this sound realistic to the average SFV or O.C. resident?
- How are trains in the area? Would a train be a better alternative than my vehicle?

As far as a job hunt goes, I want to try to get into finding a job as soon as possible. School doesn't end until May. I intend on staying a full year so I can get my act together. Otherwise, I would leave as soon I can figure out where I am going to school at, which isn't usually until March.

- As far as interviews go, do I simply just have to keep making trips down to LA and back every time I have an employer interested in making an interview? How does one that live great distances away from the area have a job ready before they move?

And if I magically found employment that works with my surviving in the area how do I make sure I find housing as soon as possible if I magically qualify for FHA, or miraculously find a studio $100,000 condo? Whichever comes first. In the meantime, would it actually be a better idea just to find a room? I heard school housing is about the same as everywhere else.

Thank you!
