I am considering submitting an article to a local magazine and was wondering how many readers would be interested in reading about a real life event that happened to a high school boy in a rural town in the South.
In summary, three years ago, a Caucasian teenage boy, who was a member of his high school wrestling team and ranked among the highest players in their state, was sexually assaulted by a group of Caucasian male team mates during an overnight stay for an out-of-town competition. (I'll spare these details as they are graphic and extremely unfortunate)
Since the assault, his parents have been unsuccessful in their attempts to have the incident investigated by the high school administrators and local authorities and have been approached by local officials with threats to not speak about what had happened. Consequently, his parents' frustration and sheer concern for their son led to a lawsuit that is now being reviewed by the Supreme Court.
I personally know this family who have been very humble and kind and very courageous through this difficult time in their life. I would like to encourage them to share their story but wanted to know if it would strike anyone's interest first.
Your honest feedback, please.
