What makes people fall in love after being out of it for so long? Like they suddenly think it's going to work out this time? Because we're talking about a different person now? They all know they feel exactly the same as they did a year ago. When they thought it would never be like it was with the other guy. And were still reluctant to believe it'd really turn out to be exactly as they had been expecting it to. It's more than that. Something gives them a reason to get brave enough to fall for the person they consider as their "soul-mate". Love at first sight has always been rubbish for whom that have experienced a disappointment during the process. "It's impossible to actually love someone you've never talked to…it's a fantasy. You just think it's a love because this is what you want it to be". Wrong, they're all wrong. This always sounds like surrender for those whom gave up fast, maybe too fast to be able to see the magic in it. The thing that makes you feel so irrevocably connected to someone you knew as a stranger just about a minute ago.
