Would anyone be so kind as to point out advantages and disadvantages to writing style and story telling when writing in first or third person? Thank you in advance!
In first person you get to know what the main character is thinking and feeling, and you invest in that character so you are seeing things through their eyes (which could be good or bad I guess). However, that means the main character has to be in every scene. Whereas in third person youcan have scenes away from the main character and describe things that the main character might not notice, so you almost get a bird's eye view.
