hi. i have a partition reserved for xp on a ubuntu machine created during ubuntu 8.10 installation. it is mounting point is /windows. and the type is ext3. before attempting to install windows xp, is it necessary to unmount it? if so, do i unmount it by the command "umount /dev/sda2" or by some different command? i don't want to destroy partition tables. (i know that i have to reinstall grub after the windows installation for dual boot functionality.)
but what is the exact command? and can ubuntu format as ntfs? i think i don't need that conversion because xp can format anyway in ntfs.
