So I'm fairly sure my racket is not quite genuine but wanted some second opinions:

On the negative side it was from China, was bought off ebay for around £70 in an auction, and was sold without a headcover. The grommit strip looks quite cheap but does fit the racket smoothly. There was no cellophane wrap or hologram on the grip when it was sent to me.

On the plus side the hologram is present on the frane, as is the grip size sticker, the balance point is the same and it weighs exactly what it is meant to (strung). The paint job is very well done and there is only one or two tiny paint chips on the racket. The grip is an authentic wilson orange leather grip and im 99% sure the handle is not hollow. The racket plays extremely well and when i compared it to my local pros real BLX tour 90 strung at the same tension, neither of us could feel any difference except for the sound of feedback off the racket face. The real BLX was soft whereas the ebay BLX made a slight ping noise. The grip was also very smooth and feels genuine.

Based on this I get the feeling the seller has sold me a factory racket but with defects, or has been cheeky and pinched the racket somewhere along the production line and completed the rest with budget components. Either way its a great racket and plays really really well....

Also if I peel away the wilson hologram then I should see some writing underneath the pro said; and that would confirm a genuine product.... But I dont really want to do that in a hurry.

But for piece of mind I wondered peoples opinions and experiences?

Response to your fake or real posting

Hi, I read your posting and Im in the same boat with you in agreement . Never came with the cover, but the weight/mass (I weighed it at 375 grams US made with 16g strings, overgrip, etc. and 368g w/ 17g string setup) of the racket was just like the US made here. And played absolutely terrific!

ANyway, I bought two of 'em from same dealer, one I played with lightly and the other as a backup (new) and never did used. I just made a switch away from Wilson and posted all my rackets on Ebay for sale.

Well posted the backup on ebay and customer complained it was a fake. I posted exactly what I was selling, US version (NOT US made). The handle was filled with foam (not hollow, rounded cardboard handle; FAKE; 298-357g) and 'edged octy.

He complained about the different cosmetics not lining up with such, never brought up about the make of the handle or other proofs of the mass or playability of it.

I'd like to see this issue go further and if there are LEGIT versions being made and sold out of China. There are authorized Wilson dealers in China. Thanks

Blx 90 fake

Forget it, if buy from China, be very weary of the make. I guess it came back and found to have one of the filler foams, 'taken out, that revealed the hollow handle cardboard and staples through the handle meaning.....FAKE!

The foam filler I guess can be easily dug out, you'll see the true handle make. The US make is a 'solid material make.

BE VERY SKEPTIC!
