My phone broke and I put the sim card in an older model. Why isn't it working? Does the company have to activate it? Will they charge me?

It might be b/c your phone doesn't support the sim b/c of the frequency. Check what frequencies the phone supports...

If your sim card not working with your Nokia old model indicates that your phone is locked with your network . Make sure that your phone contains carrier lock or not . If you have found that your Nokia gets locked with your current network, you need to unlcok it by using unlock code . You can get it from your respective provider or from any of the online vendors like Classicunlocking.com to unlock it .
