...it won't start.? In removing intake manifold ,i had to lift the intake up over the pins in doing so,i had to loosen up the distributor which knocked it out of time ,how do i fix the problem?

I was wondering... on my 1992 honda accord i have an automatic transmission and i noticed that i have 7 gears. park, reverse, neutral, Drive 4, Drive 3, 2, and 1. So im wondering, what is the differece between the drive 4 and drive 3. and y would i use 2 or 1?
I have a 92 Bandit, for some reason it keeps cutting off, and it takes awhile to start. After it runs for maybe a minute the rpms drop and it cuts off, unless i keep giving it gas. Any idea what it could be
