I am looking for a 525i/528i/530i. My price range puts me in the 2000-2002 with about 80-90K miles. Other than needing a timing belt what should I be aware of? Are there any common issues? Overall how do you like the car?

sensors? we know BMW isnt cheap but a reasonably priced one would be good we need a cut out bumper for a tow hitch( ie a cheap one would be good )

i highly recommend taking it somewhere...if im not mistaken your alternator is on the passenger side of your engine and it is an absolute pain in the behind to get the serpentine belt back on afterwards seeing as the tension pulley is under the car....

I know they are in a different class, but I have a big problem which one to buy. The BMW is $15K with 70K miles on it and the Benz is $13.5K with 60K miles. Which one would you chose? Don't care for the bad BMW's cup holders :) but quality and reliability
