I have a fully working PS3 40GB console, and a 60gb console with a missing blu ray drive. Can I switch the drive from the 40gb straight into the 60gb?

My 60GB PS3 (the first version of the PS3) won't read any DVDs, CDs, BluRay Disc... I've got firmware 2.60 and I think that the discs don't even spin because they come out in the same position that you put them in. It was a new PS3 (5,5Months) because my old one broke in June.
