Xperia neo v..? Need help i like both but just can't make the decision!!

I switch my phone on as normal on a morning but it just keeps going off and is unresponsive. The only way I can get it to come back on is to take the battery out and start again. This is happening on a daily basis. Is it faulty? I have had if since around June 2011. Thank you for your help
