Do the diodes in an alternator restrict the amperage or do they simply turn AC to DC without affecting the amperage output. The voltage regulator will keep the volts constant but not affect the amps?

Im thinking about getting a Kenwood KAC-9105D running at 2 ohms (900x1)rms or a hifonics brutus 1200.1D at 2 ohms (900x1)rms. Would i need to replace my alternator or any other wires with either of these amps or would i be okay without? At what rms/peak do you need to replace those??
