I'm renting a dodge charger in vancouver next week, curious if i'll be able to just plug my ipod into it or if i should burn some cds for my trip

i'm looking into buying a mercury mariner/ford escape (same car from same co.) and i saw the aux button on the stereo but where is the aux input in the car so i can plug in my ipod?

why is that? if i play the radio all speakers work fine or a cd. But when the ipod or mp3 player connects to the aux just one side works and later both then agian just one side.
