How so I get him to stop barking. Overall, he's a very obedient dog. He sits, stands, stays, shakes peoples' hands, and comes on command. But whenever he wants something, he WANTS it and tries to bark for attention. And he's very insistent so it's hard to ignore him. Any helpful suggestions?

We just moved across town and our puppy is just getting used to his new surroundings. The large back yard backs up to a creek and there are lots of rabbits, squirrels, cats etc running loose. We have only been there a week and our puppy has only been "outside" for 2 days since it was so cold...
It is SO annoying, because he wakes up the whole house (I leave at 4:00am). I've already fed him and taken him outside. The second he sees me put on my coat or boots he goes crazy.
